Who won the World Cup of arm-folding?

Great to see Ruud Gullit back on the BBC today. Remember him on the Beeb's Euro '96 coverage? He memorably gave us the phrase 'sexy football'!

Just saw this on Sportsday, and thankfully it's on the BBC Sport website:

World Cup 2014: Behind the scenes of Match of the Day

Dan Walker gives a behind the scenes tour of the BBC studio. Nice little video, and despite seeing similar for London 2012 and other sporting events, it still surprises me how well they get such small spaces look so big on the telly.

(Cue someone commenting it's not much bigger than Breakfast in Salford... (!))

The view is always nicer from inside the studio isn't it.

Talking of Dan Walker they seem to have sidelined Football Focus for this World Cup - there was one Sunday edition (with Mark Chapman IIRC) in the early stages but nothing but Bargain Hunt in the slot since. Obviously plenty of features surrounding the live matches so it's not exactly essential, but considering the cost of the rights you'd think the BBC would want to get everything they can out of the tournament and I definately think it has a place, especially in a tournament as eventful as this one.

No surprise. The BBC has picked the Germany V Brazil semi final next Tuesday.

Windows always help though - you get all the depth that the outside view gives you for free!

There was one on BBC World yesterday, I think there have been a number during the world cup.

Seems odd they haven't shown them at home, I guess maybe because its made up of features recycled from the main shows.

Surprised they at least haven't put them on the news channel.

Also made me laugh that with Wimbledon over the 302 stream offers "World Cup and England updates" from Monday. Guess it'll be the players holiday snaps.

I'm a much bigger fan of Danny Murphy in the studio than co-commentating, find him repeating Guy Mowbray's previous sentence a lot tonight!

Why do they put (seven) in? Are people really that easily confused between a 1 and a 7? Rolling Eyes
