I'm sorry, unimpressed by the ending.

I think the end shot should have the sun as the background. Problem is, you may have to change the beginning to reflect that.

But The Big Breakfast always starts with the sunrise, and it doesn't make sense for it to rise after all the other clips have happened.

Completely agree. Not sure about the ending for this one though - preferred how the logo animated on the last one you did and don't think the background here fits in with the style of the titles at all.

Having viewed this project from the start though the bulk of the titles now work brilliantly - especially the first half. A few minor issues in the second half - think the coffee beans then the frying pan just seems slightly dull in comparison to the rest of the titles (could do with more vibrant equivalents). The breakfast table scene looks great though, but not keen on the zoom in on the plate just before the logo reveal - again the image isn't quite vibrant enough, and I think it's part of the reason you're struggling to get the logo reveal right. I think the penultimate image needs changing in order to get the final reveal right.

They're definitely getting better. I think the problem is that the first half (after the sun rise) is fast paced, and then when we get to the breakfast table it all slows down.

Perhaps adding some different cuts and zooms of the breakfast table will make it feel pacier?

I'm impressive with the break strings etc.

Late to the party but I adore these mocks of The Big Breakfast titles. And love the modern look old logo. Top stuff!

So it's 2001, the revamp hasn't worked and there's a mad panic to restore the house and format to the one we all know and love. But what to do with the titles? Someone comes up with an idea of getting some breakfast costumes made but that's quickly ruled out as too costly and tacky.

So, as happened in 97, someone re-edits a make-shift title sequence using previously used break bumpers, and the old BB-style is back...

I'd forgot about those stings during the Liza Tarbuck era - were they all new footage then?

Like the scenario - not 100% convinced it works, especially with the cut of the theme you've used (is it from the credits rather than titles). IIRC they had two short versions of the 2001 theme - one of which was quickly replaced by the other for the 8am sequence.

Yes I was desperately searching for the shorter 2001 titles to use.

And yes the stings were all brand new footage,and in one or two cases new music, or at least heavily edited. I'll try to upload them tonight.

I have my few episodes of the 2001 re-launch on tape to hand at the moment and i will upload those for you tomorrow evening.
