Where do I turn the dish to get some Olympic feeds?
I don't have any details - but the EBU have recently started broadcasting a big mux on Eut10A in 16APSK (aka NS3), so even if it is in the clear (which is unlikely), chances are you won't have anything that can demodulate it. It's not been done to make it harder to access stuff, but rather because it's a far more efficient way to distribute content.
So are these not BBC cameras then? And if they are BBC, what are they used for?
Edit: sorry, misread post, so they're OBS. I'm presuming the BBC had their own equivalent in London, as I'm pretty sure there were more than four in use.
OBS definitely had more than four beauty cams in London - possibly a dozen? I know I saw a list at some point, but it's probably on a Sharepoint that no longer exists.
Slopestyle a great addition to the games - just a shame today's events won't get the attention they deserve. The team skating event seems rather pointless though - it's more of the same rather than something new.
I can understand why BBC2 wouldn't have live coverage today but I thought they'd at least put a highlights show on which can also act as a preview of the games.

The Winter Olympics though are much smaller - while in the summer games a dozen events or more can be going on simultaneously with the Winter Games it's rarely more than 4-5.

The beauty cameras are simply locked off cameras which are constantly available at the IBC - generally of interesting areas / scenery - suitable for overlaying graphics, or giving an overview of weather conditions and the like. The number these feeds available has nothing to do with the number of events, and in fact they can be located in places far away from the actual games (in Athens, one of the beauty cameras was actually on the island of Santorini, over 80 miles from the nearest event).

Oh thats a shame, I did find some from Globecast but they are blocked as well
ITV News had a countdown on NAT to the opening ceremony tomorrow.
On the Red Button, the BBC are running some Winter Olympic Memorable moments, they are also adding their current style scoreboard to certain old clips.
