I agree sadly that any return would be at a much less interesting location than Lock Keepers Cottages.

As for the titles - appreciate you're working with what you can find but to be honest not keen on that sunrise varient and I still think that opening bar doesn't really work for me. In a way The Big Breakfast is a show which needs to start with a bang, not a slow gentle warm up. Overall the faster cut scenes work best - most the visuals complement the theme nicely but the kettle shot needs to be a bit more vibrant while the egg shot is just that little bit too long. Most of the rest though works really nicely - though I think the logo reveal could do with being a bit more interesting.

Agree with most of your points, although I don't mind the opening bit as it's meant to give the vibe that it's an old friend returning, before it jumps into the 'business as usual' jolly theme.

It's so hard to find footage that would make the logo reveal work, but I have a few ideas and will have another go.

In the meantime, two more break stings...

Soggy Cornflakes (I don't like the music on this one)

Here's another attempt at the titles based on Brekkie's comments. As I said, I do like the slow start and the reason the kettle is quite plain is due to the subtle opening bar. But, I've given it less airtime along with the egg, and added some more clips to make it snappier. Will work on the logo reveal tomorrow.

I don't think Google Earth has it but on iphone maps, there's a brilliant 3D model of the house next to the olympic park where you can see all angles of the house but i don't think there's a way of capturing that to get the fly in shots.

The titles are amazing. I could definitely see these working on screen!

That waffle looks delicious - I'm hungry now! Definately an improvement - works so much better with faster cuts.

As for the fly in - even if they did return there now the house is dwarfed by the Olympic Park behind in I'm not sure a fly in would really look that good. Probably best keep to a tight shot of the house.

This is all looking very nice indeed.
The only thing that I don't understand is that part of the music at the start where it sound like somebody has dropped cutlery.

When I made the music a while back it was originally going to be the lock gates opening or something like that. That was many layers ago and it would be an effort to get rid of it now to be honest, so I left it on to become kitchen background noise.

One thing is for certain, it has to come from a house, especially for outdoor activties. Question is, should they keep the old house, or create a new one?

I'd say the latter. But if the former is used, a modern refurbishment is required.

This is how the house currently looks:

Yes, it's bizarre how it has gone back to having identical doors/windows to the ones that were installed in 1996. Surely too much of a coincidence?

The windows near the lock side have completely changed now:

I wonder if planning consent meant they only had a choice of the white windows or the black ones.
