As a result, Motors TV has moved to channel 447.

On the question of Hull, another thought has arisen; am I right in thinking that it's not BT on the Isle of Man, but Manx Telecom? And if so, doesn't the same situation arise there as in Hull?

Hull and Guernsey were the only places never absorbed into the GPO - Jersey and the Isle of Man were later split off. The same situation does apply to all three islands (the combined population of which is more or less the same as that of Hull).

But yet if I was to call the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands, my provider (EE) classes it as an international call which is ludicrous! It's the same situation with mobile networks...even though they are still part of the UK, we get charged over the odds and so do they if they come over the water...

Aren't there special tariffs for freemasons?

Actually they are International calls as Isle of Man and Channel Islands are not part of the United Kingdom. They are part of Great Britain and British Isles, but as they are not part of the UK, and have their own Parliaments, then they are international territories.

If that's the case then, then why do they use the +44 country code if they aren't part of the UK?

Aren't Canada and the US both +1? I'm sure a call from Canada to the US would be considered an international call.

A bit of off-topic pedantry - 'Great Britain' is primarily a geographic term for the biggest island in the British Isles. Although even when it's used in a political context, it doesn't include the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands

Can you get BT Broadband on the Isle of Man, or the Channel Islands?

... Not unexpected news, but it appears that Top Up TV is no longer accepting any new orders, for any of their offerings, from it's website.
