Unlike London, the national news this evening had leg room space under the desk for guest. looked really back on london and lunchtime news today - so essentially 2 different desks
ITV News studio looks great. I think it might have looked even better had they gone for the dark blue originally suggested rather than the turquoise / teal. Teal is associated with the naff era.
I like the smaller scale, that little island desk in the car park seems ridiculous now.
He finished by saying "Welcome to ITV News Central", straight after Bob said "Indeed, still to come on Central Tonight".
The irony...
I'm shocked at the presenters of numerous regions using the old names on air in the biggest rebrand of ITV. They've went into such detail to make sure its thorough, and then the presenters let them down!

I agree - having had over a decade of newsrooms getting bigger and various news walls, theatres of news etc. this revamp just emphasises the basics - a desk and a screen.
The simplicity of the new set though makes it all the more disappointing there have been no regional changes - essentially a new desk and setting the two side plasmas at 90 degrees into walls is pretty much all that's required to make it feel new.
Also must admit I'm not too fussed about the ITN endcap going - it's looked awful ever since they dropped the white on blue version.
Can't wait to see what Granada eventually have in store in MediaCityUK. Looking forward to that in a couple of months and fingers crossed that it tries to replicate London and the Nationals.

Would be great to see a "real" version of this set. Although I think most people will be convinced by the VR - it's pretty convincing.
I wonder it's a set harder to do well on the local budgets? You could rely on expensive VR, or really good screens to do the backdrop, while screens aren't the locals strong points.
And local news loves a sofa. If there's no sofa, it's not local.
