And they nearly all had circular sets before the current ones. One even has a semi circular studio which is partly wasted with its current trapeziodal set.
Birmingham doesn't have Barco projection cubes. They're normal plasma/LCD screens with small bezels. Barco make thousands of products, please stop using "Barco" as a synonym for screen.

Hope you don't mind, Drew, but I thought I'd share something I've been looking at for BBC Scotland to use.

It's dressed in Newsnight finery at the moment, but the studio consists of three rear projected screens, two that make up the part of the Newsnight background, and the third a screen on the wall the camera is next to, if we're going into specifics. Another key point is the curved wall. Basically, this is a heck of a lot of plasmas, that are tilted diagonally and create a curved newswall. And in front of it, there's a small raised section, which a presenter could walk down, etc, like a miniture newswall. And then finally, we have our circular rostrum, which could fit a desk, coffee table, or whatever you wanted. Newsnight Scotland would use this coffee table for most of the time, but could occaisionally use the unseen desk (which is much in the style of Midlands Today and the desks at the BBC Sport Centre).
It's all based in Studio C (Which I've taken to be 18 x 10), which, if I am correct, has no other users, now that Sportscene uses the Reporting Scotland area. The set measures about 8.4m x 5.3m, which I think is slightly bigger than what RS currently has, and there is, at the very minimum, a 1m gap between the sides of the set and the studio wall, which gives access for your maintenance, or whatever you like. This gives it plenty of room, and fits into actual studio dimensions, SVRS!
I might render it and go into more detail if it's like, but it's just my idea for something that would fit with NBH, and I think it looks a lot better than what RS currently use.

Studio C is also now home to the review show since sportscene moved sides.
Also, there is a rather large lane running from one end of the studio to the other (you can enter the studio from either the gallery end or from the weather production end).
