It actually sounds suspiciously like they are outputting their digital feed onto analogue - The fact that it went out in 16:9 and is now 4:3 shows that might be the 'problem.' Also the fact that it is so behind could also explain this, but as to why they are doing is beyond me!

Also DSat BBC ONE doesn't carry Ceefax anymore does it?

DSat doesn't carry Ceefax, no, but it does have a p100 saying 'Ceefax no longer available' and p888 still works. Neither of these are on Beeb One analogue at the moment. Apparently the signal was also going on and off during the day yesterday (I was talking to people at work today) and was jumping ratios like crazy!

Well, at 6:59 they fixed it. Badly....

The end sting of Rep Scot started, then they went to a black screen, then we got pictures from a promo for something on BBC2 in 14:9! They then cut the sting and got it working fully a couple of seconds later - we're now back in time with 1 England, in 14:9 and with Ceefax.

If the digital output was taken for the analogue service as suggested the picture would be anamorphic not letterbox!

It was in ana-wotsit - there were no black bars at top and bottom - on a 4:3 tv it looked like the people were really narrow!
