Daybreak: With Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones

As long as it's not Kate Garraway. She's painful to watch recently and if they insist on keeping her, she should be cover for Lorraine where it's all showbiz. From the small sections I've seen recently, Dan Lobb looks like he'd much rather be anywhere else then presenting the show!

Presumably Matt Barbet will cover Aled's absence - doing the Newshour and 7-8:30am.

On Lorraine's High Street Fashion Awards they had a lit 'Lorraine' sign, it would be nice if the used something like that for Daybreak 'Today' or something like this

I know I'm in the minority, but I've just sat through that, and enjoyed it. It just felt fresh, different, informative, but more so entertaining.

I agree - the original Daybreak was great. It was never given a chance though, they started changing it from day 2. It was so different from GMTV, which is what ITV wanted, so I don't u defrost and why they have reverted back to GMTV but a worse version of it.

I look forward to the relaunch but I hope they stick with it and the viewers give it a chance.

Will the studio Daybreak is moving into (ie Lorraine/Loose Women) be converted to HD for the launch?

Really? It could have been better but there's a lot about that clip that's bad. Christine jumping on the sofa is really entertaining and informative... not.

I'd imagine so, it would be a big step backwards if they didn't. But if Loose Women/Mel & Gino and Lorraine are moving to studio 3 for all of the summer I'd imagine they will- it doesn't take all summer to build a set when it could be done in a weekend at most.



I thought it was alright, it had a good basis to build on but they skewed too far the other way and ended up with what we've now got. They just thought The One Show would work in the morning and it didn't. I do wonder what the outcome would have been if they went for the two originally touted pairings- Eamonn Holmes & Kate Thornton and Adrian Chiles & Helen Fospero.

Aled Jones and Helen Fospero have been tweeting each other today. Aled said to Helen that he heard they would be "playing soon", and Helen replied, "we will".

Screen tests or practices do you think? Will Helen be Lorraine's cover as opposed to Kate?

I'm always the one who says not to speculate in this forum and I've just speculated!
