Maybe 'Studio 3' is used for when things come from the atrium itself

The two basement studios are 1 and 2 and the atrium level one is 4, which is currently used for London Tonight. Also interesting that there were only two control rooms back then. More have obviously been added since 5 News, the ITN News Channel and Channel 4 News re-locating to another atrium-side studio. So I take it a Studio 3 didn't exist back when you were visiting then? If one existed, then it must have been some time between 1990 and 1996.

I don't recall a Studio 3, but there might have been something at the back of the newsroom. I do recall two radio booths that IRN used in the basement. Studio 5 had its own gallery in the corner of the ground floor space the newsroom-cum-studio occupied. This was also where the C5 edit suites were, Five News pioneered the use of non linear editing at ITN with a trial Sony system

Where were the old 1990s News at Ten and C4 News sets. I'm sure they used to share a studio, with C4 News moving to a new studio in Jan 1999 and then ITV News moving to the basement (studio 1) in March. I assume the old ITN set from 1995-1999 was in Studio 4 (later the ITN News Channel, now London Tonight). Could the old in-newsroom sets of the early nineties (used for the Early Evening News) have been Studio 3?

Thanks for finding that. Here's another, presumably from the titles:

A little bit Channel 4 News in the shapes and colours.

Other image above reminded me of the penultimate graphics from Top of the Pops!

They were studio 4.

Too early to comment on the news bulletin personally, but those weather graphics need tweaking, the font size for the place names are too small.

The opening titles to the news, not sure on the music, there's a little tag at the end, but doiesn't seem to have the pace of the old one.

They're using Ubuntu as a font I think!

Finally, I've always said it had screen potential!

Looking good, and www.channel5.co.uk/News is also up and running except Matt Barbett's profile as yet is not on there.

I hope they actually upload programmes to watch again on their website at least if not updates online like YouTube.
