Screw it: STV was right in the first place to dump it!

Shocked ummm, no they were not. Unfortunately you've been unable to see the latest revamp episodes so you cannot judge.

So the ITV london channel mines I and many others have not been able to see it?

Although I'm more of a fan classic "The Bill" With Sgt Cryer, DC Roach, DC Lines, WPC Ackland, WPC Martella, DI Burnside, etc. & haven't watched it for a while, I have to see I'm a bit miffed with this decision.

The Bill will probably get replaced with more programmes feturing Ant & Dec, Simon Cowell & Piers Morgan, I'll be honest that if Harry Hill hadn't signed another two year deal I probably would never watch ITV 1 again, it's that crap

Old Bill was better, but the revamp was just picking up, the last 3 episodes have been fab.

I expect it will be replaced with a recycled 'drama' starring Caroline Quentin.

Doubt many here would be old enough to remember, but if anyone is of a certain age what did The Bill replace when it launched on ITV? Did ITV have regular pre-watershed dramas or was it just local tat?

A thought or three

Depends on the cost of the programme, with the linkage between Talkback Thames and RTL, a switch to Channel Five might not be out of the question. It'd be down to who owns the rights to the concept, ITV or TT.

Not surprised. I knew this revamp would kill it. It doesn't get any promotion (expect the odd IPP) anymore anyway, it's as if ITV have wanted rid of it for ages.

I'd agree there. I've long been a fan of The Bill, so I really did try to persist with the new format-- but I just found myself watching it less and less-- along with other people on anecdotal evidence. Too many gimmicks, changing the whole atmosphere of the programme-- along with axing some good characters. The irony is, that I thought the few years before the revamp (when Jonathan Young took over) were the best since the early days.

Not that I want The Bill disappearing. Frost I can understand (David Jason must be the oldest tec on the box!)... Heartbeat was bad enough-- but The Bill Sad

Didn't Five express an interest in buying The Bill a couple of years ago?

They have wanted to get rid of it - moving it all over the place then finally moving it to a later slot once a week, revamping it and making it completely different to what viewers were used to - quite simular to watch C4 did to Brookside.
