I really like STV's Festive Idents this year - at least they've tried! Cheery and inkeeping with the brand. Shame it couldn't extend to the trailers and ECP, but better than previous years!

This means STV will now need a new sponsor for their weather.

Except that FlyBe sponsor STV Weather, so this won't be a problem.

It is, however, a pretty major problem for thousands of holiday makers, so I don't want to sound flippant.

To be fair, I initially thought the same thing when I first heard the news.

The Scottish Sun posted:
STV is planning to take on the BBC's Final Score and Sky's Soccer Saturday - with its own live sports news show.
STV Sportcentre - fronted by Gerry McCulloch and ex-Rangers ace Jonatan Johannson's sexy missus Jean - will hit screens next Easter.
Pilots have already been filmed for the show - which will screen five-minute nightly bulletins at 10.35pm in midweek and a 25-minute preview of weekend action on Fridays.
Other projects being considered are a two-hour sports news and discussion show to be screened at the weekend - like Sky's Soccer Saturday.
Bosses at the troubled telly firm admitted they need to beef up their sports coverage - almost non-existent since long-running highlights show Scotsport was axed.
An insider said "It'll be new and different, a face-paced show".
An STV spokeswoman said "We're considering a range of exciting ideas and potential formats.

I doubt that very much, as STV has brought some new programmes then if there also to actully broadcast what there had left out IE Kingdom s3, Doc martin and a couple of other Drames ( Don't expect Collision) Then STV will have to keep this up for the time being, Where are there going to place underbelly it is surpose to be going into a 9pm slot. Where are there going to place some of there new show being created?

I also Do not believe the Bill will be getting broadcast at 9pm thursday I think it will push to a 10.35pm slot! like Friday or even tuesday.

This could lead to a two tier system which might be good for people in Scotland, there will broadcast the show, but when STV wants to show then thus given us the best choice of show.
