Yes, bit of a surprise however Cowell has a decent track record of making changes and refreshing his shows. Not that BGT particularly need it.

I recall many were equally dismissive of Cheryl Cole becoming a judge on the X Factor, and it probably had it's most succesful series to date.

And Kelly Brook ticks many of the Cheryl Cole attributes, pretty face, a tabloid favourite, famous sportsman partner, etc. All adds up to the oxygen of publicity for the show.

No doubt she'll be sitting next to Cowell on the panel.

Cheryl was brought in to replace Sharon as mentor though. She's got a purpose, if you can put it that way.

BGT does not just need another person on the judging panel in my opinion - which is what it looks like.

Simon doesn't like to keep things the same for too long (as evidenced by the changes each new series of The X Factor seems to bring) so it shouldn't be that big of a surprise I suppose.

Not sure about Kelly as a choice, but then I wasn't sure about Cheryl and she was a big success. Can't be much worse than blubbering Holden I suppose.

He fancies her.

Considering she was only signed up a day before filming they must have had the plans in place to have four judges on board as surely the set will have had to be tweaked to have an extra "X".

Also the X's have their names underneath them so I doubt very much Kelly signed up on Monday because they would have had to get her name and get it on the stage at short notice.

Kelly Brook? Has Cowell lost his mind....?

She's been all over the papers lately. What with her appearance in the West End in "Fat Pig" and a number of other bits n pieces, she's obviously the flavour of the month.

One wonders who she's been, erm, "doing" lately.

From what I'm told (by those that are regular theatre-goers) she's a very talented dancer-- I believe she has had a successful run on the stage version of Dirty Dancing recently? So I suppose she would be well qualified to remark upon the dancing acts on BGT.

I'd like to know what Piers's 'talent' is though Wink

I'm sure that's true - but lately she's been in the ascendant - and I'm curious as to what has made that so.

Perhaps a new agent or publicist.

Or that other thing I mentioned Wink

That's easy, lying to the public via the media that is the newspaper Wink

Kelly appeared in 'Fat Pig' in the West End, and was a JUDGE on LIVING TV's Dirty Dancing 2. She has a brilliant and impressive dance background.

As you rightly observe, she has been ubiquitous of late... I suspect a new publicist too: I have a vague recollection that she has a fitness DVD out also? Then there's that high-profile relationship with Danny Ciprani and her jaunts to the USA.

Not sure what "Cips" would make of Mr Cowell's casting couch; well, if it worked for Sinitta (allegedly) Wink

Laughing And promoting shares he has stakes in, via his erstwhile City Slickers column. Or falling off a Segway (sp?) on Venice Beach in LA; the other person to famously fall off one of those machines, was George W Bush-- so he's in good company.

Well that didn't last long, Kelly Brook has been axed ! Apparently the show doesn't support a 4th judge. She'll be shown on screen as a 'guest judge'.
