I should hope they lack something, Nini. I only mocked them up for the purpose of backing up what I was trying to explain to fanoftv. Most of the mocks that I've spent more than five minutes on haven't been posted here. Don't you worry yourself, I won't be getting any daft ideas that I'm talented or anything!!
You are incredibly annoying.
No he is not.End of story.
You're absolutely right. He is not as annoying as yourself.

I don't like how the HD bit is stuck on, and I also don't like the flowers. Everything else is fine.

You are incredibly annoying.
As are you.
Anyway, the second set of mocks are fab. My one suggestion is to make the ITV circle on the ITV1 logo smaller and move it to the right a bit.

Really? You, talented? Perish the thought! I feel Mr L-N will be sleeping soundly tonight in his moneypit at the knowledge you pose no threat to his work.

I think the logo's look great. Especially ITV2. Maybe Lambie Nairn
should
be worried
.

Yea, he should. I can kick his ass with my Illustrator 10 and my 80-year-old mac!

Aha, funny, used to have an old Mac 128k. Anyway your mocks do look alright for someone dabbling in the shallow end of Illustrator (10) and I'm willing to say having the ITV font family helps them a lot.
As for the logo issue and unified looks, I struggle to find anyone who'd disagree with the idea that the BBC's 96-01 strap unified identity was so simple as to be near genius. There's ways to make a parent brand run through the child brands so well as to retain their independence and link them in so tightly to the parent that makes them look incomplete without it as that identity did. Even now, the dead simplicity of the BBC logo and the strap logo concept is still something that people still admire, praise highly and nobody has bettered.
Just getting that special area between being so subtle as to not be there and being there without being so dominant it takes away from the secondary logo is very much harder than any mocker worth their salt and crummy eMac would consider taking on. It doesn't pay for instance.
