I have spoken to Mr Welch Via Phone about this ( as I was trying to get the actually version used on TV! , and IF anyone can point me in the Direction Please help, if you can, ( like I said I actually sent him a copy of his original work on MP3 format to him as he only holds stuff on Tapes) like I said he doesn't have a copy to hand to give to me, Nor anything else Before 1995!
further to that apart form the tune , which he isn't sure its actually library becasue that piece has NEVER been Used anywhere!
but KPM does not have any other copies meaning, further more that not even sure them self, there think it belongs to Anglia TV
I have remove the tunes till it can be clear up, buts it VERY highly likely nothing is library but apart form that Strings stab ETC Are NOT library in any way I double check that!
I'm not completely sure what you want but I have a recording of the opening music as used on the TV - it's great quality (stereo) although it was recorded off Challenge a couple of years back so you get the anno at the end and then the applause of the audience. It's yours if you want it.
Classic theme! Although I wonder if the conductor was either drunk or not present; the timing is awful.
It would be interesting to see the original titles in full with the purple lined gameboard with green letters. I've also noticed that the closing theme used during the shows heyday was slightly slower and more simpler than the opening. And I know it's sad but I'm sure I'm not the only one who's spotted the opening from Beethoven's Fitfth Symphony in the tune!
As I said before, Ed Welch is NOT the composer of the Central TV version nor is it library music. KPM had a version on disk that I thought was rather synthesized and poor in comparison, no idea where it was used.
Now I've dug out my old CD from Central and there are 4 takes off the opening titles (strangely the timing is better on another unused take). There's a few variations on the closing, some slower and some faster. Also the usual Into comms, Out comms, Stings, Underscore & Buzzer/Computer FX. I'm not prepared to hand the files out but if you have any other rather rare files like this drop me a PM.
but Mr Ed Welch still get's the money at the end of the day
along with catchphrase theme, he made that point very clear!
he was after ITV about that!
Oh well good luck to him The Roy Walker 'Catchphrase' theme and incidental music including many animations beds were in fact composed by someone else. I'm quite sure of this becuase I have a CD from the composer. I used to be a bit of a gameshow collector years ago!

can you tell me who the composer is, for the catchphrase stuff, as it been bugging me for a while
No offence Pyromania, but if you're not prepared to share files or answer requests, then you should not really be posting in the Requests forum. It's like a Jew walking into a butchers and saying to him "I'm not buying any sausages."

I don't want to hear about you and your sausages Alaxia I've sent the theme to the few that PM'd me.
Enjoy your day, try not let it bother you.. it's just a little forum.
