oh my goodness I just went on digital spy and found out who killed josh west . . . i don't know how to do spoilers so won't say it on here but I certainly didn't see that one coming!

I know it was a shock to me too. Not who you would think.

Home & Away was never on at 1830 ON Granada. It was 1710, 1800, 1710 and then 1700 from 1999 until 2000.

Didnt Border show it at 1830 for a time though?

They may have done, but Granada didn't.

Granada did have H&A on at 1830 for a very brief period of about 7 weeks (in 1992), as they decided to show Families on a Monday and Tuesday at 1710, repeats of first series Stars in their Eyes on a Wednesday at 1710, some other regional programme on a Thursday at 1710 with Elton Welsby's Kick-off on a Friday. Granada Tonight was on at 6pm with Home and Away at 1830. (the 1710 slot became 510 plus whilst the 2240 slot became 1040 extra)

As I say, it only lasted about 7 weeks, and that was whilst I was in my first year at University about 14 years ago!!!!!!

I am sorry to appear a know-all on this, but you are getting confused on this Issue.

April 23rd 1992 1710 Home & Away 1800 Families 1830 Granada Tonight

January 1993 1800 Home & Away
January 1997 1710 Home & Away 1800 Granada Tonight 1830 Regional Programmes

This stayed like this until 1999 1700 Home & Away 1730 Granada Tonight

There was a 1040 Extra in 1993 with Families.

Home & Away was never on at 1830 in the Granada Region, if it was, it may have been a Bank Holiday, Christmas etc.

sorry to say but there is a mistake in you deatiled notes and that it was shown at 630pm - along with Border TV (as said in a previous thread) again it was only for a short time, with regional programmes at 1710. This was the same period that Granada dropped Families from the afternoon slot to show at 1710 (Monday's and Tuesday's), although the Thursday Omnibus had always been there and it was around October/November 1992. Again, it was only for a few weeks, when they decided to change to schedule again as, I presume, they were losing viewers left right and centre.

YOU ARE WRONG. I USED TO WATCH FAMILIES TOO, IN FACT I WATCHED EVERY EPISODE. FAMILIES WAS NEVER SHOWN AT 1710, TO PROVE YOU WRONG, I AM PREPARED TO GET IN CONTACT WITH ITV GRANADA.

I didnt realise that any region showed families at a different time to the network. Wasnt it networked on a Monday and Tuesday afternoon at about 3.30pm? I seem to remember, on HTV, we have Families on a Mon/Tues and then Sons and Daughters on Wed-Fri until May 1991, then when Sons and Daughters came to an end we had ACP Wed-Fri. I also remember both Granada and HTV showed ACP for a time in the 5.10pm slot, HTV right up until the end in 1999.

Families was shown at 1710 and I remember it quite clearly, mainly because I couldn't watch it at that time and ended up watching the omnibus editions on Thursday at 1040 (just before Prisoner:Cell Block H)
