Changing Usernames?

As someone who's just had to ask Asa to make a change to my username I understand I may not be the best person to speak on this subject, but why the hell is "NateTV/Synergy/OPTIX" allowed to have as many names as they please?

Should there be a limit on how many usernames you can have?

The user would only signed up again if they didn't get they're name change. I rather have one user with lots of user name changes then many accounts popping up. I also had to ask Asa few times to change my username. I am not hiding with a nickname anymore.

I think you should notify everybody you used to be called gum boy so that those who wish can still rip it out of you for talking rubbish

The rules do state all you have to do PM, do you have a problem James?

I don't see any real reason to complain if someone has a username change, and there's nothing in the rules to say you can't change your username if you do it via PM, and anyway, you've been James Hall / Jaimé Alexandéz / James Hall. So technically, you've had the same amount of usernames as himself. So quit whinging and get back to metroblah.

Well there IS a reason to complain if the gentleman in question is one so obnoxious as "NateTV/Synergy/OPTIX". I at least like to know WHO I'm shouting at before I do so.

There's no limit on changing names. Someone informing me of a change of name by PM usually has an age to wait and needs to remind me because I read the PM and instant forget about doing the change - which involves working through several screens of the admin page so I'll make sure there's a better way of doing it.

As to knowing previous names, I'll add it on the to-do list for the new site. You could click on someone's profile with a section "Previously known as..."
