An invididual identity.

It sounds a bit sad, but I miss the old London Tonight/Today rather than the new corporate one.

Yes, I miss the old London Toady / Tonight only because Natasha use to present. Oh, well, at least I can see her on Breakfast. Very Happy

Natasha Kaplinsky on "London Toady" eh? I'd always thought there was something slightly amphibious-looking about her.

Yes, she was on London Today / Tonight years ago when I was a wee nipper. What exactly do you mean by your comments 'Spencer for Hire'? Please expand?

It doesn't lack much in the Scottish TV area. Scotland Today is consistently a better programme than Reporting Shetland... um... Scotland. The latter is too concerned with box ticking (giving tons of time to new roads in Aberdeen and 10 seconds to murders in Glasgow, just so they can say they covered the whole area), Scottish Executive press releases and a PC news agenda (and as a lefty, there must be something wrong if I spot it).

Scotland Today does a good job of mixing human interest and making political stories relevant, and with a millionth of the budget that BBC Scotland no doubt has. The only criticism I'd have is that it consistently covers stories from outwith the region (stories from Aberdeen and the Borders consistently creep in - equivalent to Yorkshire taking stories from Tyne Tees).

Grampian's North Tonight doesn't seem too bad either, and also destroys the BBC competition. (In case you're wondering, we sometimes see it down here repeated at 3am in the morning - very confusing if you've been out on the tiles to be confronted with Grampian news).

It has been a long time since you were up through the night!!! North Tonight has not been shown on Scottish for months now - only repeats of Tom Weir!!!!!!

why are the regions webistes so rubbish? Central news hasn't been updated since Jan 31st!

Most (if not all) of the video links on all the sites don't work. When I sent and email of complaint (early feb) I was told it was being sorted.

ITV News is in decline. The cavalier attitude that ITV3 is more important than ITV News shows it all too clearly.

ITV want money, News costs money, so do as little as you can to get away with your reducing public service requirements.

That's it I'm afraid end of a 50 year history of a broadly based regional commercial broadcaster in the UK.

I was wondering why I hadn't seen it in a while (albeit I don't deliberately wait up for it or anything). I suppose Weir's Way works for the drunk audience in a surreal way.

The Tyne Tees website is still updated twice daily. Not quite sure why they've been allowed to keep it though... but it's better than the rest of the ITV Plc. sites.

You'd think they would at least update the image of the NE Tonight Studio on the news banner, its not even the set they had before the 2004 revamp !

They all seem to be old shots... there are some vans with the old 1969 logo on in some parts of the site (last seen in 1992).
