A good idea there but it does look bad. Here's some tips I got for you:

First tip is to use a basic font,
Second is to avoid resizing images the way you have done.

Also, just to let you know, the IBA are no longer; it's ofcom now.

EDIT: The BBC One, BBC Two and five mocks from the the mock lab is what you would expect on TV. The Channel 4 and ITV1 mocks need updating. Also, I don't think you'll find they will be broadcast in widescreen.

I think the mocks were abit poor but then again maybe it's a first attempt.
Next time, bit better spelling Smile

Wouldn't they show a testcard instead?

I think they would probably show a caption like the Mock Lab's versions and then after a few months or so, they would turn the signal off.

lol, and how long has the IBA been defunct?! Smile

How do you know that Ofcom won't be defunct and IBA bought in with their old logo!?!? Laughing

As for the mocks, they are awful. The font, the bad quality stretched images and the poor spelling and punctuation. The Mock Lab mocks are proper mocks, this is just drivel!

By the way just to verify, is analogue and terrestrial the same thing? I've never really known the difference between them. Confused

No - analogue and digital signals can be broadcast terrestrially, by satellite and via cable.

I heard that the signals would just be switched off, no caption.

Don't quite see why they'd broadcast a test card ... what would they be testing for?

Well obviously for the first couple of weeks or so a caption would be shown - allowing for any folk recovering from alcoholic comas to realise why they can't watch Children's Hour any more. Personally I reckon they'd show a Sky ch 999-esque looping video showing us the wonders of their digital services and why ceasing analogue transmissions was such an unquestionably fantastic idea.

However once the analogue transmission bandwidth had been sold off and put to other uses, all you'd pick up is a static.

Here are some example that are actually used on analogue satellite transmission closedowns. These are foreign, but still give a good idea.

This is K1010 on 19.0E

Here is a ticker that ran across a film every so often on swedish channel TV4 on 1W

But, finally, here's one in english. The one Channel 5 ran when the closed down service on 19E.
