I actually wonder if the C-word in Teachers last night was intentionally bleeped by the programme's makers. For some reason I thought it made it funnier than if it had been left uncensored. It turned the moment into something more tongue-in-cheek rather than just crude. I might be wrong though.

They bleeped in an episode earlier on in this series.

I have to be honest it's not as good as it was for obvious reasons. But still alot better than Most sh*te on TV at present.

Either one of two things need to happen.

1) the Xmas special is the final episode or
2) Bring back Brian & Kurt

I have no problem with the new characters but Brian & Kurt going has left a big hole. If they had left in Series 2 then it wouldn't have noticed so much. However Series 3 was basically the Brian & Kurt Show - No bad thing - but it has really effected this series

Personally I thought it'd be rubbish without Brian and Kurt, but I'm actually finding I'm not missing them at all. I suppose it's down to personal preference, but I think the new and existing characters are strong enough to carry the show without them.

I actually applaud the bravery of the programme's makers to ditch characters at the height of their popularity, rather than flogging their parts to death, as so many other programmes would have. I think if Brian and Kurt had remained in this series they'd be getting a bit stale by now.

I've found the new characters introduced this year very good - it's the old ones that have let it down. No news if it's recommissioned - but hopefully it will be - still better than any other drama on TV (except Shameless!)

Bob is going from funny annoying to annoying annoying, while I don't think Penny and Lindsey have been used as well as in series 3.

The character of the series has to be Claire though - they've really developed her as a character this year.

There seem to be less things happening in the background this year - most of it's kids fighting and the dinnerladies - but not seen one donkey since the first episode.

As for Kurt and Brian - they may be dead, and although I hope Teachers allows itself to move on, the nature of the show means they could easily return.

I don't think you can class teachers as a drama anymore. it's now a full blown dark comedy- Which is biggest reason for it's decline imo.

Series one 1&2 mixed Comedy & Drama brilliantly. I don't know why they changed that.

There was a donkey in the dining hall when Lindsay got stuck in the serving hatch a couple of weeks ago. Again though, I think it's probably a good thing that they're not over-using the donkeys. I think that joke was beginning to wear a bit thin by the end of the last series.

The background highlights for me so far have been the kids rearranging the school's sign to read T I T W A N K S Comprehensive, the kids getting stuck in the tarmac of the newly resurfaced car park, and the Brian and Kurt lookalikes in the staff room.

As for JCB's comments, I get the feeling that the next few episodes are about to get more dramatic with the repurcussions of Penny's affair with the pupil, plus Bob's got to find out about Ewan sleeping with Ping at some point.

The C-word was bleeped on Tuesday, but t w @ , another word considered very offensive by some but minor by me, aired during Peep Show at a similar time on Friday.

I take it you mean t*w*a*t. I remember back in 1989 it wasn't a swear word in the UK see Polymorth in Red Dwarf III " I say lets got out there & t*w*a*t it"

I remember a while ago someone posted a list of the words which were considered most offensive when used on TV. Quite a surprising list!

(By the way, can't remember any of them!) Rolling Eyes

When ITV went notoriously mental with the scissors on Home & Away in the late 90s they removed any scene where anyone called someone else a "Cow".

A bit extreme I think.
