UPDATE (MediaGuardian): The new executive producer of EastEnders will be Kathleen Hutchison, currently the executive producer of BBC1's highly successful Holby City.
Louise Berridge will remain with the BBC heading a major new drama, while the official word from the BBC is that Louise has done a great job with EastEnders!

Not before time I say, and after comments over recent months I think Mal Young and Lorraine Heggesey also need to consider their position.

Well, they killed him off last time.
I, for one, was fairly happy that was a permanent departure!

The new producer should announce the axing of Den - a good (permanent) departure storyline for him should start to bring in viewers.

So was I. It was the "Bobby Ewing" moment for EastEnders. Next time viewers will need to see him in a body bag!

This will be the perfect chance for EastEnders to rectify where it has gone wrong of late:
Getting rid of the Ferreiras, too little has been done to redeem them to the audience too late.
Getting RID of Spencer Moon, send him off to America with Vicki Fowler or something
Cut back on the Kat/Alfie and Sharon/Dennis storylines

I see Tuesday's episode only got 6.2 million viewers and 30% share, against Emmerdale's 8.1 and 41.5%.
