Well Done ITV1

I haven't been a big fan of ITV1 recently, i haven't really watched it at all.

But tonight i have watched it all night. Tonight we've had the new show X-FACTOR. Although stuff like Pop Idol isn't my cup of tea, this was rather enjoyable. We've also had the new Caroline Quentin drama which was also rather enjoyable. And of course we've had Parkinson which so far is REALLY good!

I really have to say this is the best evenings TV ITV1 has produced in a long time. I hope they get good audience figures for tonight, because for once they deserve it.

I agree totally. I haven't enjoyed ITV1 this much in a very long time. The atmosphere in the Parkinson studio seems amazing! Though whether or not they deserve the success is another matter...

Well I've only been dipping in and out but for a Saturday night I have to say ITV have certainly made the effort. The schedule works well I think, the trailer for "Trapped" in the last break of the X Factor said that it was coming up 'after Simply the Best', bit of a shame they hadn't updated that since they recorded it.

Totally agree especially loved the Caroline Quentin drama let's hope this is ITV back on track and NO more repeats.

Can't possibly disagree over Parkinson, and so good to see it in 16:9 at last.

However, Von Crapped and X Factor have got to be classed as some of the worst television ever.

I caught the end of X Factor. Why, oh why, must reducing people to tears be regarded as good television?

I watched the whole of Von Crapped, purely because there wasn't much else on and 'er indoors is a Caroline Quentin fan. No, sorry, VERY poor.

For fear of invoking the Private Eye neophiliacs column, Friday night is the new Saturday night. Although I love Parky (which, let's face it, would be good no matter what channel it was on) I think that Jonathan Ross, Distraction and in previous months Scrubs, Big Brother, The Osbournes and an old ep of Fools & Horses to start it all off makes Friday preferable to Saturday, to me anyway.

Of course, when Dr Who starts in 2005, maybe we'll have something new to watch on Saturday nights....

I have to agree with Mr Harvey - Von Trapped was particularly nasty.

However, I have to disagree with Mr Harvey - reducing people to tears is EXCELLENT television! If fools put themselves up for a panning, they will get it. If someone is rubbish and they are told they are rubbish, it's their problem for being blind enough to take it so badly. And the fact millions of us is watching makes it even more devilishly entertaining!

I know many of the newer members go to bed every night in tears, especially if you're in a particularly cantankerous and caustic mood.

In my personal opinion, Simon Cowell is a totally ignorant git and is a total waste of space on television.

You'll get no argument from me on that point. I wasn't really concentrating on Cowell or the other bloke though. It was Sharon Osbourne who gave it the best comedy value.
