I'd wager half-a-crown that it's a trick to upset the people who record programmes and then fast-forward through the breaks, like I do.
After all, we've all got used to waiting for the promo on the end of the break and then getting ready to go from fast-forward to play, haven't we?
Now you don't know whether the break's going to finish, so we're back to what 'er indoors calls "The Golden Shot Game", forward a bit, back a bit, forward a bit, forward a bit more, back a bit, PLAY!
ITV1 are now screening trailers in the middle of ad breaks, so you watch 2 minutes of ads, get a trailer, then get another 2 minutes of ad.
I've not yet encountered this. Does this happen exclusively in those breaks that seperate different programmes (as opposed to breaks between "end of part one" and "part two" etc)?????
I remember that once upon a time NO trailers were EVER shown during the latter type of commercial break, and how strange it seemed when they were first introduced.
Non-news regional programmes (e.g. 1930 Thursday) here in Central England often have a break in them that contains NO COMMERCIALS - just a couple of trailers!!!! Does this happen anywhere else?
