As soon as he's pushed the button he's away.

Indeed Dale is there with the same suit on - but he goes after the button press so that you don't notice the join - they have to pretend he has time to walk across the studio from the draw.

So how far ahead is Winning Lines filmed? There was me thinking that the phones you can hear ringing immediately after Philip Schofield announces the number were real/live!

AFAIK parts of Winning Lines are live and parts are pre-recorded.
