Does anyone else find the latest BT ads about customers returning to BT intensely irritating?

Yeah . . . and funnily enough, they never say how many leave BT for alternative telcos. Can't imagine why . . . !

(I was about to start new "Bad Ads 2004" thread just now, but since this old one's been bumped up . . . )

Let's nominate the following ads:

Pension Credit - "pick it up, it's yours!" is just so bloody annoying.

the advert with the tag "<product name> - a fruity way to relive constipation"

Churchill - "can you save the wogga-wogga from exinction? Um... *bird coughs, flips and dies* - no. But you can save me money on car insurance - OH THAT I COULD!" Evil or Very Mad

Must add Bridgestone Tyres to the list as well. Looks very american, probably a direct input with a new voiceover.

Coco Pops. Somebody shoot the damned monkey.

With all these crap ads around I must give credit to the Spanish Pot Noodle ad, and the "Give me cornetto, and youll get...me" ad.

Did anyone watch The Ads They Had To ban ?

Can i just butt in and say..

There was a 1950's film on Friday lunchtime on Channel 4 - they had the commercial break but the final advert (the Pizza one with the two elderly guys) got stuck - and we were left with the sound of the 1950's film playing in the background with a picture of those two guys from the pizza ad ('this is my nephew'..one) for about 30 mins.

However I went to check channel 4 on Freeview - and it was working fine. Can't understand the different transmitter.

Sorry to but in there - thought that would be interesting. Permission to be put in a seperate thread.

I find that advert for RBS MINT, with the big-nosed man sneezing, extremely nauseating - especially at dinner-time.

And much as I adore Carol Vorderman and her loyalty to Dickie Whitely, I find the First Plus advert she fronts appears very cheap and tacky.

I DO like the adverts for Typhoo tea with the family being soaked with buckets of water and woken up by a cockerel!

But what exactly is Lionel Blair's 'fruity way to relieve constipation'? I wonder if Graham Norton was approached to voice that advert? Scratch Head

The ad's that I remember are the best ones with the most originality.

One of my favourite ads at the moment is the brilliant Travelocity.co.uk one with the legendary Alan Whicker.

The one I saw was of him in his house ironing his shirt. He starts speaking in a deep, loud welsh accent and says something like "Hello, I'm Alan Whicker..." and then his voice changes to his usual smooth, classic tones "...and when I talk about travel, I cant help speaking in this voice".

Very clever, and very funny Smile

Don't think anyone's put a mention in for that Computer generated Evergreen Lawncare" advert ? You know... the one with the frog singing a rather cheesy yet catchy version of "Daydream Believer...

Or any number of chatline adverts? My personal favourite, never seen any more, was "Come on, call Chatback! Oh-eight-nine-one, FIFTY FIFTY FIFTY! Oh-eight-nine-one, FIFTY FIFTY FIFTY!"

LOL Laughing They used to show those adverts on LWT Razz a lot but they have stopped showing now thank god.

And I hate the Pampers Kandoo adverts it horrible , "Wipe your botty clean" Rolling Eyes Confused Laughing
