That would make sense after watching this mornings show.
Danny Baker was on about cuts following a meeting, and Terry was saying things like he'll miss the cooking items when they're gone, then turned and said I'll miss you too of course (towards Gaby).
He then mentioned during a coming up bit that it's the barefoot doctors fault, he's the reason why we're going.
The decision is the latest failure for Chris Evans, who vowed to become a market trader if The Terry and Gaby Show was not a hit.
Channel 4 scrapped the millionaire's return show Boys And Girls last year.
Today a statement from the channel said: "Five can confirm that it will not be recommissioning The Terry and Gaby Show.
"The series will finish at the end of its run of 200 episodes on 26th March 2004."
The show featured Terry Wogan and Gaby Roslin.
Evans had been the toast of Saturday night TV in the mid-90s when he devised and hosted hit show Don't Forget Your Toothbrush which was sold around the world.
After months in the wilderness following his sacking as a DJ from Virgin Radio in 2001, he re-emerged as a producer and aimed to shake-up British TV.
His gameshow, Boys and Girls, hosted by Vernon Kay, was expected to be must-see TV, with 100 contestants each week competing for the chance to spend £100,000.
The Terry And Gaby Show was launched last June at the same time as ITV's daytime flagship show This Morning, presented by Fern Britton and Philip Schofield.
But it was reported to have secured just a 3.5% share of the audience - compared with This Morning's 32% audience share and recent high of 2.2 million viewers.
It is a damn shame to hear about this, as it is one of the best shows on Daytime TV definately. For finanical purposes then you cannot blame Five at all, but I find it hard to believe that a show like TAG has been getting less ratings then a repeat of The Streets Of San Fransisco, which had the 11am slot before TAG took over. I am glad Five comissioned it and showed it is just a shame it is had had to flop. Though I admit I don't watch it much as it always clashes with college which annoys me, managed to watch some of it today though. Though the good thing about the show is that it is not an ITV style of show, it is more BBC and doesn't concentrate for women it is for everyone and unfortunately there aren't many shows like this, the only other one I can think of is Countdown.
But with TAG departing maybe it would be a good idea to extend The Wright Stuff?
Plus whatever happened to the rumour that TAG was going to move to 5pm?
It's a shame that other broadcasters don't pick up on shows dropped by networks. Just because a network drops it doesn't mean that it wouldn't work somewhere else.
I can't see why itv can't commission a short run of it to see how it gets on in the 5pm slot. They need something to fill that slot, and this could be it.
For me, I love the show, it has greatly improved since added a cooking item, getting Danny Baker on board and having a more relaxed atmosphere.

"Hello to everyone in the upper circle!"
Ditto, I saw some of it the other week when they said that half of the audience didn't turn up because of traffic so they had to change the entry of the way the guests come in. Though embarassing, they admitted this. To be honest since he came on the show my opinion of Danny Baker has changed as he is very funny. I have the edition where Peter Kay was a guest before Christmas and it was very very funny.
Though I like Danny Baker's stories, the best being where he said that his wife went out, so he had his George 'Formby' Grill to cook some steaks and he had no ketchup, so he popped out to the petrol station to get some but he locked himself out when it was raining and when there was a good football match on the TV, he said that he was out there for 2 hours and the dogs ate his steaks, when he got in his wife said that she had left him a note saying that there was no ketchup. But his wife later phoned the show saying that it was only something like 30 minutes he had been waiting for.
Though could you ever imagine Terry Wogan on ITV? It would work well on the BBC, as they need a show like this, which isn't like This Morning, as the BBC have copied this twice before with Good Morning with Anne and Nick and The Morning Show. They need a good daytime show, I personally believe that they should bring back something like Wogans Web or Open Air.
Why couldn't Terry & Gaby be on itv1? As long as Nigel Pickard would want it on itv1, I couldn't see any problem. Though some of the things Danny Bakers' said about Fern Britton, and this morning about Fiona Phillips may be a problem I suppose.
I don't think Trry & Gaby would be right on the BBC. Could you imagine it there? I think they like their way of the lifestyle programmes. They are not that far lagging behind itv1. Where as the itv1 5pm slot is a different matter!

It would look ridiculous to have a former competing show on at 5pm! They would also have 3 progs of the same ilk (This Morning, Des and Mel, Terry and Gaby) running thru daytime - that would be lazy scheduling. To take a failed Chris Evans venture to a mainstream channel would be a disaster.
God, that pictures old, well old for the series. Thats Danny McCall from the start of the series, when Members of the audience used to win things from peoples houses (that he bought during the week) if phone callers didn't, Terry would then go and hand out the prizes to the audience.
Since then they've changed the set. The green leather sofas are now bright yellow, and bits of red and turquoise have been added around the windows and the set.
