Another unpopular opinion rolling into the station:
ITV's January 2013 rebrand was the best the channel has ever looked and every change thereafter (including ECPs, coming up menus, etc...) has been for the worse. I don't like ITV Creates one bit and much preferred the original 2013 idents package. The smooth beauty of the colour picking effect and the huge range of idents in circulation meant they never got boring, and were always appropriate to the time of day/upcoming programme/time of year, etc.

Sorry to disagree but, as with everything from that era (the countdown, the opening titles and music, the purple captions, etc), this was the very worst BBC News era. Even worse than the Viking helmet era which followed.
One of the most memorable, yes, certainly not the best. The early 2000s Sky News set was much better. Much more depth and activity in the background.

The theme tune has lost its gravitas over the years. The current remixed version lacks that authority and has been 'dumbed down', like a lot of TV presentation and content these days.
Bring back this music, titles and set!
I love the 1999-2004 era of ITV News. The graphics, the set, the music - all great.

It's a bit like when you used to have Andrew Marr, Peston/Murnaghan and Sunday Politics on back to back on a Sunday morning, and I'd see people on Twitter watching them all, despite getting endlessly wound up by them. It's Sunday! You don't have to watch them! Life's too short!
It's the same with people who watch Question Time every single week, if a programme is winding you up, either take a break or stop watching it!

The titles and the music that was used on the ITN News Channel from 2000/02. Brilliant!
Really got you hyped up for the news!
