So, 6 days out, the place was still a building site. Not what you wanted if you were expecting the place to be in a ready non-broadcast pilot state.

The chap in the suit walking along the towpath must have been from the Channel 4 or Planet 24 press office as he was holding a smaller prop version of TBB cerial box, as used in the pre launch trails and print adverts.

I think it was also a media pack for advertisers.

Look at the phone card in this clip, is that an early website/email address underneath the phone number? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgwCl5IZLCc

I refer you to my answer to the last time you asked this. Wink

Is this the inside of the My Lenny Um Gnome?

WH

Yes it is. Or more accurately, the inside of the cup on which the gnome sat. It later just sat on the ground.

I found that fascinating, thank you for sharing. What a mad thing it was to do what they were doing!

Also you get a good view of what a lovely old house it was, pretty criminal what happened less than 4 years later.

Another randomish episode from September 2000 - Johnny back from his holidays but a week before Denise returned, and the day before he put his back out. A rare example though of Johnny hosting a competition as himself and also doing the On the Bed interview.

First day too of the new graphics (the titles debuted a few months earlier), new living room and Jasmine Lawson's first day - but still with the old news graphics.

I wonder if any similar footage exists from the 1996 relaunch? I searched on Getty Images but no results.

I doubt it. By most accounts the build up to the 1996 relaunch was chaotic to say the least.

Like the relaunch itself, then.

I don't think Peter does too badly here. His Jerry Springer bit is spot on:
