Recreating the 2000 BBC World titles

Hi! This is my first time posting here but been lurking for a while and got inspired by BBC News nostalgia thread (notably the excellent work of Bail & mdtauk). I thought I'd share my attempts at recreating/remastering the 2000 BBC World titles. So far only one shot 'complete' but I'm fairly happy with the results. Let me know your thoughts, should I carry on and make this a full mock?

Figuring out the exact geometry and lighting of the red ovals & the small place names in the background (some scenes have the 'World' replaced with many smaller city names) is probably the most difficult part — with the fairly lo-res reference footage available it can be difficult to match things up exactly, but I'm hoping to get it as faithful to the original as I can apart from a couple of extra details thanks to having more resolution (like the cross-hatching).

Is the video file you uploaded corrupted, as I can't see anything in it?

Thanks so much! That's weird, it seemed to be working here (on macOS) – I've done a fresh transcode, hopefully that fixes it.

Did you end up completing the full mock of the opening titles?

It's definitely still in the works! Been a bit busy the last couple of weeks but it is getting there – here's a (rough) gif from the first scene in progress:
