That's great, do you the Christmas ident where the V turns upside down and turns into a Christmas tree, please.
I wonder if that's perhaps a reference to this from ITV, though these were much later (1997 Christmas I have written down). Not strictly an ident as they were filmed competition shorts instead, but they were used to link into programmes and it matches the description used?
No, there was one Christmas where the ITV trails used an upside down 'V' as a Christmas tree. These were definitely used in London, and it would have been the first few years of the ITV logo

...as seen in a networked trail produced by Thames, who were responsible for the excellent 1989 Christmas design package? The ten-minute "preview" featuring more of the package can be seen here.
One of the regions did their own take on the "upside down V as a Christmas tree" design in their holding slides (which varied in style across the regional companies) - ironically, it was one of the stations who didn't take up the bulk of the ITV '89 generic look!
Ah those things. That package did seem to get quite good exposure across the network that year (I've got recordings from both Tyne Tees and Yorkshire knocking around), though I must admit the presence of the christmas trees never really hit me until now.
Quite a few clips on YT of Monette Lee presenting HTV Night Club in vision (may have already been linked to here). Monette is an Aussie actress who appeared in Sons and Daughters amongst other productions - interesting to see her in a presenting/continuity announcing role!

The hunt is still on, but alas its seems to have come to a halt, of somewhat.
Nothing of proper videos for London service 1993 - 1995 or the Meridian service from 1994 - 98 which served other areas or even when the new summer 1995 london service started.
A clip here from my channel shows that the neon/people NT idents were still being used in October 1999, it's quite likely they changed in November 1999 when the generic look launched on the Granada and UNM regions.
I don't think anyone's mentioned that TSW inserted its own NIGHT.TIME ident into the Granada service in a radically different style to the Granada package. The ident features at the end of this clip which includes some other items of interest, notably a sales pitch for overnight advertising:
There was also a (later?) variation of this ident carrying an announcement by Ian Stirling; unfortunately in that version the Ed Welch fanfare no longer synched with the animation.
