The full red logo with the whole circle (which they've put as their profile picture on their Facebook wall) looks better than the cropped one that appears here and on the website.
Pity the website is still mostly purple just with a big red banner across the top.

Looks like it was formatted as the cover photo.
The Universal Channel in the US had a long history. Launched in July 31, 2003 as Bravo HD+ airing HD content the Bravo Channel had at the time. Almost a year and a half later on December 1, 2004 it was rebranded as Universal HD airing HD content availability in the Universal Pictures library. Additionally it aired content it acquired from other channels. One such show was Six Feet Under which I missed the airing on HBO and Bravo picked up reruns. I had watched the series in SD on DVD but seeing it in HD for the first time was a treat (this was way before HBO put all their content OnDemand or on HBO Go). The channel stagnated and never had new content for its own as it was an HD only channel. Only July 15, 2017 they converted the channel to the Olympic Channel.
Now the Universal name as a Channel was transfered to the existing NBCUniversal kids channel Sprout which is now known as Universal Kids. The channel underwhen a slight change where the late evenings and primetime periods was changed to geared towards 8-12 year olds. While from 3AM-6PM they still focus on the preschool aged children.

I took it straight from the channel's website.
The new logo looks very odd there, here is the proper full size version:

Unfortunetly when doing that you only get a layer of the logo and the croppped down version. The proper full size version looks a lot better thankfully.

Sorry to drag up this old thread, but I've noticed that Universal TV have already
'enhanced'
some of their break bumpers and idents; not that there was anything wrong with them in the first place.
These involve more of a backlit effect than the side-lit in use so far, with much more use of the space within the circle. I like them . . .
There is a very nice dark blue break bumper, with lights coming from within the circle. I'll try to get a capture of that, but the use of them seems to be rather inconsistent.

Because it has been used in the US as well. Not seen it on Will & Grace, so assuming it’s for those big dramas.
I spotted this nice 'NBC Presents' ident prior to the start of an episode of
'Law & Order: SVU'
last night on Universal TV.
I'm not aware of them using it before any of their own (NBCU produced) programmes in the UK previously.
