I can't help but relate this show to TPOGS. Was I seeing things or did they actually use distorted clips of the POG set in the trailers for the 5 O'Clock Show?
Update: "Tomorrow - Homeless dogs" ...that's it.

I think Bulls-it is one of those odd ones that is not actually a swear word. Richard Madeley said it a couple of times when Richard and Judy were on at 5pm too.
The word does not appear on it's own in Ofcom's recent report on 'Audience attitudes towards offensive language on television and radio' (I was thinking about copying and pasting Appendix 15 here to see what the tvforum swear filter made of it).
Also, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdCdE_mxlGA, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obskbuL3B8I and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkNisfp1BTM
EDIT: He actually said "boll_cks". I just saw it on Channel 4+1.

This video should be 01:53. Does it play all the way through for everyone? The original file is fine because I watched it before I uploaded it but for me it doesn't play when embedded or downloaded.
Anyway, here is another version. See if this one works...

If it was on C4+1 I'd suggest it's a non-issue then. Usually if something happens that shouldn't, they conveniently lose the sound or picture on the +1 channel at that point an hour later.
Wikipedia posted:
Never Mind The Boll_cks was met by a hail of controversy in the UK upon its release. The first documented legal problems involved the allegedly 'obscene' name of the album, and the prosecution (under Section 28 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847, since replaced by the Indecent Displays (Control) Act 1981) of the manager of the Nottingham Virgin record shop (and label owner Richard Branson) for having displayed it in a window. However, at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 24 November 1977, defending Queen's Counsel John Mortimer produced expert witnesses who were able to successfully demonstrate that the word "boll_cks" was not obscene, and was actually a legitimate Old English term originally used to refer to a priest, and which, in the context of the title, meant "nonsense". The chairman of the hearing was forced to conclude:
Much as my colleagues and I wholeheartedly deplore the vulgar exploitation of the worst instincts of human nature for the purchases of commercial profits by both you and your company, we must reluctantly find you not guilty of each of the four charges.

Oh dear, I think Lenny Len's lost it.
What do you mean? 'He already did 10 years ago'?

This is the most interesting thing he has done for years.
The three times that he said 'boll_cks' were bleeped on this mornings repeat. Not a massive surprise, I suppose. I thought they might have cut the whole sequence out. I checked the subtitles this morning because I wanted to see if they had edited them to reflect the bleeps (the word was on the subtitles the first time he said it out of the three during yesterdays show). Strangely, the subtitles weren't the ones from yesterday. They were being retyped. Was this just because the show was edited or is it normal to retype subtitles on a show that already has subtitles? I could understand if the subtitles had been tidied up and/or converted to caption style rather than live style (this often happens on the Have I got News for You repeats) but both the live showing and this mornings repeat had live style subtitles. I know the subtitles are often retyped for The Big Brother repeats because they are often extensively edited for content but surely in the case of The 5 o'clock Show where, as far as I know, they only removed one word, they could have just edited the subtitles file.
The same joke, different subtitles.
