Did anyone else see the mistakes on channel 4 this morning?

I was watching RI:SE (yes I KNOW I'm sad but it's a cool wee programme) and each ad break was totally messed up!

Either the last or second last advert in each break would freeze on the last frame and stay there between 30 seconds and 2 minutues (at least one stayed there for about 2 mins)!! Shocked Hmmmm....do you think that they have a new member of staff that doesn't know that the ads are finished? Doh! Confused

Did anyone else see this?

Just had a similar problem here in London (where all the Channel 4 ads are played from of course!) - During a break in Countdown an advert for Woolworths stayed on the last frame for a while (probably about 2 minutes) and then it cut to the endcap on a Honda advert!

So I bet C4 are going to get a lot of complaints from the advertisers (except Woolies of course!) asking for their money back!

Looks like Woolies got their money's worth!

Don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere, apologies if so. During the introduction Cadburys sponsor animation on Coronation Street tonight, the screen went blank a couple of times, then a VT clock appeared (which was going backwards quite quickly), then the Corrie opening titles came on. I guess someone pressed 'rewind' by mistake.

There was a mistake at the end of the break during the Jonny Wilkinson programme tonight; House of Horrors was moved for this programme to 7pm and after the Jonny programme it said ''Touch of Frost, after House of Horrors''; it should have been changed when the schedule was but it wasn't.

Well, there were 2 mistakes on TOTP last night, one of which has already been reported on the likes of Ceefax. (The wrong answer to the competiton). The other was when the presenter was looking at the wrong camera whilst introducing an item, then when the producer switched to the camera that he was looking at, he stopped talking, then restarted again from the beginning.

Yeah not sure what's going on with Channel 4 on this one! My boyfriend thinks that maybe they didn't have enough adverts for the allocated break time! They then HAVE to let the last few adverts freeze so that the time can be filled for the run in to the programme. This could be right. But it's still really bad to have happening!

Channel 4 play different ads in different regions and as a guess it's computerised so something's not working right there and it's freezing them to fill time.

Something similar happened on talk radio once when some adverts were rediculously sped up and some slowed down because they were timed wrong in certain regions.

Hmm, be thankful you don't watch Rise on S4C~ [which I try to avoid] -- they go into a break whenever they feel like it, in the middle of the programme. Or cut into the news bit with two adverts in some bizarre ratio -- only to play them again at the right time, along with the rest. No staff, see.

I'm surprised people waste their money advertising on S4C~ in the early mornings. Mind you, it's probably dirt cheap anyway.

Well they're obviously not trying to fill time as why would they pause for so long on one ad and then crash into another that's halfway through! Surely if they had some spare time they would go back to what they used to do in the old days with the "Follows Shortly" captions and some music!

Incidentally, another Channel 4 fault, this one from a few months ago, I was watching Countdown whilst in Devon so I'm not sure if it happened in all Channel 4 advert regions but the advert time obviously overran slightly and we picked up the next part of Countdown I think just as Carol was pulling out the first letter!

The announcer on STV has just done her link into The Adventures Of English.

"In half an hour Whose Right Is It Anyway looks at whether or not it is right to go to war -that's in just over an hour -but now Melvyn Bragg goes on The Adventure Of English ". She sounds bored out of her mind and doesn't even know if the programme is on in an hour or half an hour .
This announcer also seems to always have a cold and sounds very flat in her delivery.

Another mistake to add to the thread, this time on BBC2, just as The Simpsons was coming to an end we got this strange gurgling noise... which turned out to be the beginning of the soundtrack for the next ident (Fish)...
