Yeah, I think it's in safe hands over here – the taskmaster Jeremy Wells spent years playing a vaguely Chris-Morris-ish role on his own comedy shows and on the radio, but now he's flipped over to the cuddly One Show equivalent, Seven Sharp, so the throne role should suit him. Looking forward to seeing how the contestants do too - Madeleine Sami is one of the best comedy actors I've ever seen. (Disclaimer, we're very far away so the humour doesn't travel, due to flight restrictions.)

And Paul Williams is used to being a sidekick - he and his brother did a spoof low-budget "show-within-a-show", as a regular comedy segment on the Jono and Ben program a few years ago. TVforumers will have a fit that this was on primetime telly even as a joke, but the shonkiness just made it even funnier.

Didn't realise that part of the deal was that Channel 4 have also gained repeat rights to the Dave series. Streamable now on All 4 and UKTV Play, just with the All 4 versions removing any UKTV Original Production stings, the only ones being when paired with the Avalon production card.

Repeats of Series 1-9 also on E4 as well as Dave.

Am I the only one who thinks it's a bit cheeky for Channel 4 to be saying Taskmaster is returning home when they didn't air it in the first place?

I think that's the point.

Great to have this back - hopefully it is another step to Daisy May Cooper becoming a national treasure.

Weird at first, but slipped back into being as good as ever.

Nobody needed to worry.

I love all the replies to that tweet saying great idea as if it's a new innovation that Dave hasn't had for ages
bilky asko and Inspector Sands gave kudos

This show is shot in such a cold and distancing way for what is supposed to be something fun/entertaining, particularly the actual tasks, but even the studio footage seems to have noticeable motion blur? (shot in 25p of course)

The contestants seem to find everything to be absolutely hysterical in a way that didn't really translate well to viewing at home.

Couldn’t disagree more. I haven’t laughed so much since the start of covid. I have missed taskmaster and the first episode was as good as it had ever been!
