Sky News Sunrise as expected was shown on Channel 5 from 6:00-6:30 am this morning. There was no special Sunrise idents or graphics but here what happened:

The channel 5 annoucer at 5:59 said something like 'Now on 5 we go, for the first time to Sunrise from Sky for the latest news'

The programme started with the first headline - The globe 80 million people...40 countries...10 years ident was not shown.
Presenters were Simon McCoy and Juilette Foster. The Sky News DOG with time was shown on the left of the screen with the 5 logo on the right.

The presenters welcomed 'new views from the UK's Channel 5' to the show at the beginning after the headlines.

Reports where shown about the Train strikes, Brown's baby, Florida plane crash, Australia fires and some retiring fashion designer. There was a newswall report with the woman presenter about the trains, including a live to Southampton station. UK and International news in brief was also shown.

There was no mention of Sky News Active allthough they read out the email address before saying that viewers with Sky Digital could email from their TV.

At about 6:20 a break was shown, a few seconds of a Sky News First ad. was shown before Channel 5 put a 5 News promo and then ads over it.

After the break sports news was shown presented by Mike Webberorn (I think) from Sky Sports News.

After this we had the weather and then back to the presenters who said what was coming up and then they as they went off to the break the normal Sky News logo on globe was shown before and endcap of a still globe and the following writing:

'A [Sky News logo] presentation for Channel 5

Copyright 2002 British Sky Broadcasting'

And that was it!

Sorry it didnt say Presentation, I think it said Production.

It was abit like that but the A Production etc. writing was smaller.

It said 'A [Sky News Logo] production' and on the next line 'for Channel 5' The globe was also the full globe with a bluish white background showing the globe zoomed out not like in your mock.

I should have taken a screengrab but I didnt want to wake anyone else in the house up by starting my computer.

Presenters were Simon McCoy and a coloured women who presents sometimes and does buisness news sometimes.

Err, pardon Me? Coloured? I think you mean black. I don't want to start a long conversation over this and won't take part in one but I do find this offensive.

Think what you like, I'm sticking to this view! :p

Yes, I agree. I didn't want to say anything, might have been a slip, but the term 'coloured' is a tad offensive.

Why should the colour of the presenter matter in any case?

Oh don't be so bloody politcially correct! She is a coloured person! I would understand if Ste has called 'That n***** bitch', but he didn't, so stop cacking your pants over nothing!

Yeah, don't want to get into a debate about this but my parents say 'coloured' whereas I say 'black' and I don't deem my parents to be racist.

Eh? I suggest you read his message again. That wasn't necessarily a view he agrees with - just one which he'd understand to be offensive if had been said.

Now there's a lot of things Jamez can drop himself in for but don't blatantly misquote him.

Cheers, Asa

Well ive edit the original message then. Sorry to cause offence I just cant remember her name and having only just woken up 5 mins before the start I didnt hear when the said the name after the headlines. I only said she was 'coloured' as to identify her from the other presenters (shes not the normal sunrise presenter) as I couldnt think how to describe her. I did look on the Sky News websites presenter profile but couldnt find her.

Did anyone else watch or tape it?

asa i wasnt mis-quoting him, but i understand how you may see that. I ment that he was moaning at us for complaining about the use of the term 'colored' which IS racist, then he said 'She is a coloured person!'

That term is racest, and when i was yonger i said it, then my best mate told me he found that term offensive, so i am not talking crap
