Oh dear - Scotsport's obviously coming from the Scotland Today studio, so as they didn't have time to clear the studio before the local news, it's been read with a lot of the Scotsport stuff still up. They've done it from a different angle to avoid showing the Scotsport logo, but still...
And does someone want to teach Scotland Today what their region is? Two stories from the far far north of Scotland - the Outer Hebrides being a classic, and the only other stories being tenuous local angles to ITN stories.

Fri and Sat they lead with a Grampian News story too about the Capt who tried to sink his boat he was from North Scotland .What does that have to with Central Scotland news ?.Midweek they also had the story on Scotland Today about the Aberdeen girl who is sueing Grampian council over her being bullied whilst she was at school. It realy annoys me that STV have to resort to taking stories form North Scotland outwith their region .They are just so ******* lazy and can't be *****.
New break bumpers - just when I thought STV had lost interest in their presentation - to go with the new Scotsport. The STV logo with a Scotsport logo swirling around. Don't know if there's an identical version for Grampian.
And can someone tell STV that Sarah Mack's gone - they've definitely shown that ident in the last few days.
New break bumpers all over Scotland, which have been used all afternoon. The station name is lost IMO, with there being so many Scotsports'.Also new station ID's with the Scotsport tune.
The new set is far superior to the old, and the graphics are good. Also a brand new website scotsport.co.uk

STV produced a special Scotsport Ident also in 2001 the background was green with the small blue box Scottish TV in the middle. The ident also had a catchy jingle to it i think it was the music to Scotsport Extra . Like the new ident and break bumper though looks great .Wished SMG would make more of an effort with their on screen look the current celeb ldents need to be updated badly they used to be good at producing idents for special ocassions such as xmas and their 30th ident was excellent .
By the way i see Angus Simpson has got a new gig on Glasgow based Saga Radio.
Well what a blunder the announcer made doing a live V/O before the link to You've Been Framed . STV are looking for people for a new quiz and the announcer stumbled she sounded nervous and picked the read up but it was just a mess she was rushing towards the end before the ident for You've Been Framed .This announcer sounds as though she always has a cold and she sounds so flat and her scripts are just very poor in quality.
STV are at it again i can't believe that the main story they have lead with tonight is a Grampian region story .The mystery of Renee Macrae and son Andrew they both went missing 27 yrs ago and now Police are digging up an old quarry near Inverness with a retired police detective.
It's a major story for the Grampian region and was major news in 1976 i remember it well when i was at school and it was always thought they both lay buried under the new A9 .
This is typical of STV though getting in there and it''s not even in their region .
Do the English ITV stations steal stories from other regions such as this ?.
I've been reading bits and pieces regarding STV's new studio complex at the Pacific Quay which will be built next to BBC Scotland. Any ideas how many studios this will hold and if they plan to keep a large studio for larger productions. I hope SMG don't scale down things like they did with Grampian.
Also just a thought, why are 2 seperate studio buildings being built, why couldn't SMG & BBC Scotland think of constructing 1 large studio building and share the studios just like BBC Manchester & Granada do now ?
Not that impressed with the new look Scotsport SPL programme .The set looks cheap and nasty and it's obviously just at the other side of the Scotland Today set hence the odd angle with tonights late bulletin parts of it are the set used for Seven days with Scotsport on the background .The fake audience they have on one of the background sets looks awful they have a handfull of people standing around guess they couldn't fit more in the studio . Not sure about the line up of new presenters either Sarah O who ever the hell she is ? looks very uncomfortable and is not a natural on the autocue she looks nervous guess Julyan Sinclair is ok . They should have lined up a team of presenters more intouch with the sports world for a start off and brushed the cobwebs off studio A and filled it up with an audience it would have been a much better atmosphere but guess these good old days of filling up studio A have gone now .
I wonder what the new soap High Times will be like when it launches next month should be interesting and will the network pick it up as they did with Take The High Road in the early days probably NOT : .
All I can say is, ITV PLC, all is forgiven, come in and buy SMG now and put us out of our misery.
The last half hour has been the most appalling I've seen from STV in living memory. From leading on a Grampian story in Scotland Today, to the crap Scotsport ident (wow - it's the break bumper with the Scotsport tune in it. Big wowee Gerry) it was a bad enough build up. But Scotsport SPL?
It's horrendous. Imagine, those of you down south, a really cheap version of what The Premiership was about when it was on prime-time at 7pm on Saturday (crap lifestyle stories), combined with the Premiership Parliament, or whatever the hell it was called. Then imagine it's presented by Mr no Charisma in Jim Delahunt (that name has to be rhyming slang), a talentless Radio Clyde DJ in Sara O (she's not even capable of doing her own show - I wonder what balding middle-aged SMG executives see in young blonde women?), and a guy whose been brought in with a daft accent to a) keep Grampian happy, and b) provide the comedy value.
Now, imagine that this is the much-vaunted highlights programme. You know, where those of us who don't pay £12 a month to Setanta get to see our football. In fact, scrap that, imagine down south if, instead of showing highlights with proper commentary, Match of the Day did one minute of highlights coverage and 15 minutes about a player who used to play with one of the clubs. You'd storm down to Broadcasting House and rip the heads off the people who came up with the stupid idea, wouldn't you? Why shouldn't we do it with Cowcaddens?
The concept and execution of the programme is terrible - I've seen better production values on a nativity play. Wobbly camera angles, awkward gaps, and the first thing they read out from their viewers was a complaint about the show.
Phew..... I don't know if things have improved remarkably since the first 15 minutes. I'm going to nip back and have a look, because it is actually so bad that it's funny. For all of about a minute though, natch. But if this is all STV have to give us nowadays, would the last person to leave Cowcaddens please turn out the lights?

Much as i hate to agree with you about ITV plc taking over Scottish and Grampian i think they should just take the whole thing over it's such a mess and very unprofessional if you think back to the days of Scotsport with Arthur Montford and first lady of sport now at BBC RPS Sally Macnair . SMG have just destroyed Grampian and STV the only thing i can possibly compare the whole thing to is the classic 70's movie Stepford Wives bland and plastic.
Did anyone notice on the 6pm Scotland Today bulletin on Thursday, they used ITV NEWS correspondent Jonathan Wills in Athens? Did you notice Shereen calling him "Jonathon Mills"? That was abit embarrassing. They also used Grampians' Neil Mudie.
