Sky Deutschland has started to use the same logo animation as Sky Sports (2014- idents) and Sky1 (2015- idents)

Interesting how Germany are using a slightly modified version of the Sky font where the numbers are all monospaced, whereas in the UK they are all different widths. Noticeable with the gaps either side of the '1' digit in the times. They'd look more squashed together in the UK. (Is it sad that I noticed that? Razz )

Plus, their programme menus are rather nice, can't they do something like that over here?

If the font is an OpenType font, it could contain Tabular figures as well as Linear ones

Sky teasing a new product launch on Twitter and Facebook this morning. More details on November 18th they say.

I guess the presumption is that it will be a next generation ultra HD box but we shall see. The tagline is 'set your TV free' which is interesting, you wouldn't usually associate Sky with the word free!

Will we see Sky Sports UHD launch before long I wonder.

Probably their SkyQ product, with 4k support, and a Netflix style experience for On Demand

Something they'll still be charging for in ten years time when other providers are offering it for free... Just a guess.

Could also be something Sat>IP related. Sky are behind SAT>IP but have yet to release a system using it. Options could be SAT>IP LNBs instead of normal ones (allowing single Cat 5/6 cable runs to receivers rather than multiple LNB feeds), or could be that a new Sky+HD box has more than two tuners and allows for network rather than LNB-fed multiform by acting as a SAT>IP server?

Could also be a hybrid satellite / IP system?

Or could it be they are rolling out dynamic ad breaks into live channels (with ad breaks stored on the Sky+ HD being triggered to drop into slots?)
