Sky Refresh

I know they've refreshed the entertainment channels, but if ever there was a group of channels that need a complete refresh - even more with the having the 25th anniversary this week, it's Sky Sports.

However, with the UK 'brand' being rolled out to the European Sky Sports channels, that ain't happening any time soon.

If they have bothered to bring Living and Atlantic under the proper Sky font channel name, surely they should do the same for Movies and Sports. I actually hate the Sky Sports logo, because it is two different fonts and looks out of place when put beside the others. I'm not keen on the modifications they have made to Movies either but hopefully they do change them to bring them in line with the others in future.

You never know, they may already be thinking of some changes for one of those brands . . .

Here are the changes to Sky2. The soundtracks on the idents have been changed, now using longer versions which were used back in 2011 on Sky1. The length of the Sky2 idents have not changed so the new music abruptly cuts out mid note.

That's also a new logo - the 2 has changed.

It's the 2 from the Sky Sports 2 logo, which I believe is the old, old Sky corporate font but modified to be more rounded. Why they haven't just used their own custom font they paid a lot of money for is anyone's guess.

For the Sky Arts idents, I get the 'Madame Butterflies' pun, but can't fathom the dalmation one. Anyone?

Does anyone watch Sky2?

They moved it so FAR down the EPG, that I'd be surprised if anyone gets that far on a normal search

They are going to have to play the "1 being let loose" quite a lot for the other idents to make sense.

Really like it, I'm a wee bit sad about Sky Atlantic's soundtrack being binned off though- I've grown accustomed to putting it on late night and hearing it half asleep

I wish the US had idents like this. But naturally like to make money or use their ad time to promote shows.
