Bloody hell, I thought 'oh this won't affect me that much' and then realised TLC (home of various guilty pleasures of mine Shocked ) would be yanked off air... But then again, any tech savvy people affected can just stream it online, hurting Discovery even more...

Eurosport the biggest issue for me, Eurosport Player is still £19.99 for the year until the end of the month, and still worth it even if this dispute does get resolved.

So Eurosport is affected after all. Considering the app on my Samsung TV is still dead after six months or so it would be good (wishful thinking perhaps) if out of all of this they might strike a deal to get the Eurosport Player on Now TV.

You know with Eurosport. Suspect they are one of the most viewed Discovery Networks channels on Sky.

Might seem an odd suggestion, but could Discovery join up with BT Sport and then Eurosport 1&2 become part of the BT Sport channel subscription and keep on air uninterrupted?

Weren't Discovery and Sky going to try and team up and take over Channel 5 during it's bidding stage a few years back? Times have certainly changed... Shocked

Are they really covering the scores with that? Or is it removable by pressing back up?

Well that'll piss off viewers more than a blank screen from next week would.

Interesting how that Sky FAQ is phrased, implying that with no deal it'll be Discovery, not Sky, that remove them from the platform, if they choose to do so.

Quote:
Yes, the channels will be available until 1 February. Sky has chosen not to renew its contract with Discovery, and at any point from 1 February, Discovery can remove them from the Sky platform.

I guess the EPG slots might be a separate issue as in theory Discovery could take channels FTA/FTV and therefore keep the EPG slot.

So this has been going on for multiple months - not surprised.

Correct. Very tense.

That's a strap generated by Eurosport themselves. It'll be popping up between now and the resolution...
..expect to see a lot of it during the women's/men's Australian Open finals this weekend..

I suspect that services like TV Player will do well out of this. They carry most of the Discovery channels along with Eurosport 1 & 2 for a fiver a month, and the Amazon Fire TV app works a treat.
