S4C New logo

S4C appear to have launched a new logo:

I like it but I prefer the old one. Very basic but nice.

They seem to have gone down the same route of every other rebrand in the last couple of years of basic sans serif fonts with little else, like Yahoo, eBay, Microsoft etc.

Just needs a red '~' coming out of the C and voilà.

I agree, it's better than the old S4/C logo.

Change of fonts is to reduce licensing costs and work better for digital (the previous web fonts didn't support Welsh accents although their house font does).
New pres will be launching later on today. The DOG is coming back too.. Here's how it appears now with the additional Cyw logo. It seems reasonably small/inoffensive but Thomas isn't too happy about it.

It will be all about the execution. The rounded font used before, worked well with the blob like logo form-up.

Reminds me of the previous ITV corporate logo - just a bit bland, characterless and not very distinctive.

All depends on how it's used and the supporting elements.

If it's a licensing thing, have they forgotten to change the Cyw logo in the cap above?
