At the risk of sounding stupid, why did they do that? Embarassed Is it due to Ken Bigley?

Yes, plus all the political and sport news today. Doesn't make much difference now the programmes that would have been delayed aren't on..

BTW, SLING BLADE tomorrow night on BBC TWO has also been dropped.

Friday night's Halloween H20 was replaced by Forces of Nature Rolling Eyes

I was really looking forward to H20 Evil or Very Mad

Yeah, it's very sad re: Ken Bigley. And yeah, my heart goes out to him/his relatives etc, but I don't understand this thing of cancelling certain films following tragedies.

Unfeasible story of white-masked, bead-knife wealder in USA... British hostage in Irag... where's the connection? Rolling Eyes What's the problem?

It's like when Princess Diana died... BBC One removed the Roger Moore film North Sea Hijack (a.k.a. ffolkes ) from the schedules. Presumably because it's plot involved a CONSPIRACY, and there were CONSPIRACY theories re: Daina's crash. What a lame connection.

Basically, anything with a remothly negative tone is removed, and only comedy/fluffy/romantic etc stuff is allowed.

I think this policy is madness.

Presumably, the TV companies do this because - although they know it's daft - they also know that some totally tw*t-headed Mary Whitehouse clone will be somehow "offended" by, say, a horror film after an international tragedy.

It's a shame that TV channels have to bow to such sad b*stards. They should all die, rather than decent folk like Ken Bigley. There's no justice.

It may be due to the beheading of Michael Myers at the end of the film.

I have never seen Dogs of War, does it involve any scenes of hostage taking by any chance?

Haven't a clue whether Ken Bigley was decent or not, but I agree with the rest of it! Death to 'em...

Who on earth wants to see "What the Victorians/Romans Did For Us" at 1:35am? I can think of a better use for the gap...

Speaking of Ceefax, has the recent snooker been used as a convenient excuse to kill any late gaps completely? On Thursday night, News 24 has been scheduled for 1:05am on BBC1 and 1:10am on BBC2. Surely both channels won't show the same thing?

Are you seriously telling me that you think Pages from Ceefax would get a higher audience?

I'm saying that if it's 1:35am on a Monday morning, BBC2's late programmes should come to a natural end ahead of the Learning Zone at 2am.
