I know the programme isn't thought of very highly here - which is baffling as its an excellent programme.

I hope Scott Mills is successful in having brought to the network.

Oh Gavin River City is just so bad the acting is very poor .I hope it never makes the network .

I haven't got a clue who that woman is. I've probably been watching the wrong programmes.

She's the actress who played Ruth Fowler (or "Roof" if Mark said it) in EastEnders.

Oh yes, that rings a vague bell. Not a soap fan, but I think BBC Scotland's decision to invest so much money in one programme (unlike BBC Wales and BBC NI who spent their equivalent cash on a selection of more modest programmes) is quite brave so it would be good to see it picked up by one of the network channels. I still wouldn't watch it though.

I heard he was appearing as himself (DJ'ing) for a festive episode. Not sure if they are filming Christmas yet or not, but the set had festoon lighting on it recently. Good on him.

New controller Ken McQuarrie has given his full backing to the show, and said he was committed to a "long haul" with River City.

Apart from it being a fantastic investment in the industry here (technical and creative), its bloody great to have an hour of prime time home grown drama right in the middle of BBC One's schedule.
