Since 9pm last night on Sky News - NO SPORT/WEATHER/BUSINESS NEWS

Longest period since death of Diana (there was even weather on Y2K)

Very poor service then from Sky News, somebody should tell them, THE ELECTION IS OVER.

Sorry there are still 6 results to be announced

Yes 6 results, but it's not going to alter the result. The world does go on, as does the weather, business and the sport. They'd be better off resorting to normal coverage and dipping into these results as and when they are declared.

The election certailny was not over.
The entire Northern Ireland political landscape has changed and Sky News were on air to cover it, unlike the BBC or ITN.

Yes but so was BBC News 24.

Yes but only just and their coverage only lasted for about 30 mins before they only went for updates, Sky's was solid and constant and they did not miss one result whereas the BBC did.

The News24 cameras were crap with dreadful picture quality and technical failures.

For me personally, I didn't want solid and constant coverage of this when I got home from work today. I wanted to see what had happened during the day, which News 24 gave me whilst also dipping into to hear various results in Northern Ireland. I knew I'd seen enough when Ian Paisley started singing, he's no Daniel O'Donnell you know.

There was plenty of News24 in Northern Ireland today, until the 3rd result came along and they all but abandoned it.
The camera was flickering and it was general poor quality.
They had no astons to tell you who had won and didn't look prepared.

most people dont give a toss about the election as the votes showed. why would tv channels want to bore people to death with boring politics for 24 hours.

Politics boring? I think not!

The person in charge of the country such as Phoney Blair, control everything such as:

Petrol Prices
Pensions
University Grants (or the lack of them)
TV Licencing
Tax
How long you wait at the hospital
What you buy stuff with - Pounds or euros *shudder*

Now that William Hague has cast himself to the shadows of politics, could we perhaps see a new Conservative government in five years?

Just thought I'd say this - the BBC were VERY slow in getting results through last night!!
