Yet oddly enough they announce "sky pick" ?, I wonder if the Sky part will appear in one of these matches and refresh (doubt it but why not just say Pick as the channel is?)
example: Fri June 19: Norwich vs Southampton - 6pm, Sky Sports, Sky Pick

I wouldn't read too much into it. They call Sky One, Sky 1...
Pick now showing in the Sky TV Guide at channel 895. Not showing as Sky Pick, or Pick HD, and not all programmes are marked as HD either.
The one at 159 is the HD version. I am surprised that they are not shouting about it being HD, it's also rather surprising that it's FTA. Even Sky News HD isn't FTA.

I’d take that Sky Sports article as confirmation it’s changing to Sky Pick to be honest. We’ve now seen it referred to as this by Sky and a logo on a Freeview advert. The Sky One / 1 thing is nothing, either is correct regardless of the logo.

Don’t understand the Sky News thing. Not like the HD channel is a big draw to subscribe. Surely you’d want your channel broadcasting in the best quality possible.

Which is exactly what I think the driver for Pick HD is. They want to show off their Premier League coverage in the best light possible.
The decisions around Sky News HD not being FTA would have been made under the previous ownership so that could potentially change. Especially as it seems as if Sky might be putting more effort into their FTA offering.
To give Sky credit, they've done everything possible so that people can watch some form of EPL matches for free or at a low cost. Either by having FTA football in SD on Freeview, HD on Freesat, Sky and Virgin Media, while NOW TV customers can watch Pick matches in HD on Sky One with the cheaper entertainment pass.
NOW TV have also heavily subsidised the Sky Sports Pass, where customers have been able to pay either £20pm or £25 currently for three months to watch the Sky Sports content.
Comcast have really tried their best here to improve the content for Sky and NOW TV customers.
Looks like his account was deleted. That name was definitely not appropriate. Click where it says
