According to MediaGuardian it's due to legal reasons - an improved offer had been put forward and by law the members have to vote on it again, or something.

Anyhow - a strike could still affect later coverage of the Olympics.

Anyone know what theme the BBC are using for Olympic Grandstand this year - something classical I'd imagine.

Is regional news likely to move to BBC 2?

Isn't it about time the Beeb stopped treating 2 as a '2nd class' channel, or forked out for another satelite or 2 for BBC 2 English regions, or maybe in the future, turn all the different English BBC1, into News 24's, then regional news could be more often ?

As I've said before, once analogue is switched off, they can't prat around moving regional news to 2, because all we get then is LDN !

No. I dont think so. Well not planned anyway - probably will though if something big is going to happen (like were gonna win something)

No shortage of rings today, but I guess the silence regarding an Olympics ident means there's nothing to tell...

There was a sneak preview of the BBC set at the main stadium on Johnny & Denise's Passport to Paradise tonight... did anyone manage to get a capture? I couldn't find a tape in time.

The set was also used for today's 50 Greatest Olympic Moments - not sure if the presentation matches plans for the games - it was very red and just didn't feel right.

No but I feel the aston graphics are going to be liek that with the spinning rings logo on them all the time. I think it'll be quite annoying spinning away when they show caption after caption as they go across the 8 lanes to introduce the athletes ont he track events.
