It is an Ananova style news by the BBC! Very Intersting! I wonder if we'll see any of these for BBC News in english?

It's really good although a bit limited at the mo with regards to news stories- only one is mentioned a day but I'm sure this will change over time.

Staying with Newyddion BBC, I notice that their programmes on S4C have adapted their window in line with the change in London last month. The URL www.bbc.co.uk/cymru has also been inserted.

Other changes have been afoot today chez S4C- a new break bumper and the weather titles have been abandoned, so straight after the BBC Cymru production slide, Jenny Ogwen appeared in her purple flashy catsuit!!! http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/shocked.gif

A busy day at S4C then! http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/cheesy.gif
Diwrnod prysur yn S4C felly! http://web.ukonline.co.uk/tv.home/forum/emoticons/cheesy.gif

I was wondering, should S4C show a Newyddion Breakfast or Welsh reports within Big Breakfast as when they go digital they don't show these programmes (on digital currently) so this is a gap slot?

It is a gap slot but I don't know if S4C could afford to extend their output as although the BBC must provide a news service in Welsh they only need to provide 30 minutes a day in the language (not much I know!) on the channel. S4C gets 10 hours of BBC programmes a week free of charge but, as has happened in the past with Pobol y Cwm being extended over the summer, S4C has financed the 'extra' productions which have resulted in the BBC providing more than 10 hours a week of Welsh language output. According to the S4C report, their aim was to provide 12 hours a day of Welsh programming but they often show more, especially when the Wales Digital College is taken into account. Maybe the service will be extended in the future but I don't think that it's likely at the moment. Sad

I think that a news/magazine programme for the morning would be a good idea though, perhaps something like Heno (a successful evening magazine programme which finished before Christmas and was replaced by Wedi 6 yesterday, which is, from first impressions almost the same as the former prog, transmitted from the same studio (albeit with a new set) in Llanelli with almost the same presenters e.g. Angharad Mair and Heledd Cynwal) or GMTV.....although many people complain that S4C simply translate programme formats from English to Welsh as it is!

Did S4C get Channel 4 News in the mornings just after Sept. 11th when Big Breakfast was cancelled?

I was thinking a programme along the lines of the 0800-0900 BBC Breakfast.

Yes it would have only on Analogue only though. Analogue has a mixture of Welsh and English C4 programs. However, S4C Digital doesn't.
