The idea of the last 3 seconds of the World countdown is that it transforms into the channel symbol. So it's a bit like the original 2000 countdown which led into a symbol before the news.

The N24 countdown just doesn't fit in with the channel I say. They need to go back to the old style.
If they did go back they could come up with some rather fab animations using the current theme.
Should get some mock people on the go, although making those 3D Swirly shapes isn't all that easy I suppose.
Oh and World's countdown, it''s not the most amazing piece of work I've seen, it is a bit slow and boring but then it's not shown for a huge amount of time. (I don't get the last bit when it changes to show BBC WORLD - seems a bit pointless to me.)
