Premier League to hold press conference at 5pm. I'd still be surprised if Al Jazeera took too much from Sky. I suspect Sky will get the best packages and ESPN to get something. It would be awfully exciting if Al Jazeera picked up rights.

If it's split 3-ways I'd have thought they'd only get 1 package at the most, which of course would give them the same problem ESPN had which is that they need to get more rights to bump up their offering.

I wonder if the press conference is at 5 because it's just after the stock market closes? Obviously that doesn't affect AJ and ESPN but it does Sky, any other winners and maybe some clubs

Been trawling twitter, indications seem to suggest that AJ have secured something, one suggests they might have replaced ESPN completely. only 75 mins to go till we discover.

Sky's shares rallying quite strongly at the moment,

The Guardian's head of media has said that the rumour is that there has been some sort of a twist. I do find it hard to see Al Jazeera getting nothing if they chose to enter the process and I don't see a 3 way split.

Yes there's a few people on Twitter, including the Guardian's Olympic correspondent saying that AJ have got something

Split time I think.
Big surprise.

BT win rights to 38 matches .... Sky the rest.

A £1.254 billion increase in these times is amazing. The gulf between the Premier League and football league is surely going to be massively widened.

Not the same rights as they have now though - no Sky matches at Saturday lunchtime I think

Astonishing that BT has won first choice matches. Big blow for Sky if they are BT Vision exclusive.
