Whether you like it or loath it, Neighbours has earned a reputation for revamping its titles every year into more sophisticated, ponsy works of art that don't make sense! But this one really takes the cake! I found it off a Yahoo! Group, and couldn't wait to gawp at it!

Neighbours 2002 (Titles)

The theme's more wooden than the last one, and the pictures more blurry and tinited than ever. They always put them in unusual groups instead of families, for some reason, but that's Neighbours for you!

These will debut sometime near my birthday; the week Feb 11th-15th - not that I'm proud or anything..... Very Happy

Wow - the Erinborough Cheese Festival is obviously very popular! They're all sepia-tinted! very Sons and Daughters!

It'll never be as good as the old ones. I mean the old ones just after they ditched the original theme tune and everything was on a purple envelope for some reason - that rocked.

The current season has only started 2 weeks now, and the song is very different and very soapy and the background pictures are shocking!

Overall I find it worst then the others and I've only watched 5 minutes!

And they also film it near my suburb so quite often the local shopping centre is filmed!

Hmm not too bad, but they aren't as good as the current ones or the set before the ones before this (all fady and nice), but the set inbetween the current (UK) and the set that I liked were hideous (all back liney and manky). The new ones go in at #3 of Neighbours titles with the Current (UK) and the Fadey one fighting it out for top spot.

It's got a nice colour theme to it, but I don't like the new music.

I actually like the new music, but it doesn't sound like your average soap music. The current UK one is much more glossy and soapy with the saxophone, this one's got more guitar etc. Good, though.

I think the 2002 music is great - it's obvious they're trying to compete with Home and Away, which already has this modern, acoustic-sounding music. Very nice though

How far is the UK behind Oz then?

Although I am probably wrong as usual, I believe the gap is two months. Someone will probably say something completely different.

Am I right in thinking that Neighbours is broadcast less times a week in Oz than in Britain, therefore narrowing the gap over time?

Only just a month now, gone are the days when it was 18 months. The UK just keeps on catching up too quick, hence why they stop it occasionally like at Christmas or when Wimbledon is on. I think at one stage it was only two weeks behind.

As for the new rendition of the song, is this the first time that it has been sung by a woman only?

IU think it has gone 5 days a week in Oz in the last few years and the reason that we keep catching up is because we only miss around 4 weeks a year with Xmas and Wimbledon but they take an 8 week break over xmas [so they can all come over here and do panto!].

I always wondered why they do that, too - but I just realised that maybe it's because it's 'Neighbours' - and all about the 'Neighbours', and not just each of the single families. One big happy family! Very Happy Wink
