I kinda feel like this is a waste of bandwith, but whatever…From what I've seen of the idents I think they look really good -- Channel 4's idents have always impressed me and I think they are the best after my, personal favourite, BBC One/news idents.

Anyway, my question is have they shelved all the previous versions or are they just adding these 'updated' versions to the 'current' idents. Thanks all.

I think they are a vast improvement, the I was very unopinionative (and I know that isn't a word!) about the previous ones, but these are much better, I'm not sure if I like them but they are great variations on the theme. I'm not sure if the other ones are still in use, because the only C4 junction i've seen over the last two days was 'Tubes', so either they are just using new ones or atleast showing them off.

Well, the only one I've seen kind of looked... the same!? I think it was tubes - it was ok but very similar to the old ones!

Aha very good point! I may start up a dictionary. I like the smiley anyway.

Some of the new C4 idents are at TV Home for those that haven't seen them. I prefer them because what I didn't like about the old ones was the weird movements of the 4 and the varying light effects, I like the basic idea of moving blinds and the new ones are far better.

Yeah, not sure what's going on with them actually - an 'old' one was shown last night at 7.30pm but was shown widescreen without switching (everyone saw it as 4:3 letterbox) so I assumed it was a mistake but one of the Richard Whitley idents was shown in the early hours of the morning, so I'm not sure.

Cheers, Asa
